- BoingBoing.net Reviews Cycler!
Have
you checked out the latest books in store this
month? If you have then you know that Cycler
is one of them! Cycler was recently reviewed
on BoingBoing.net and described as a "smart YA novel
about sex and sexuality".
Jill is pretty much your average
teenage girl... oh, except that she transforms from
a girl to a boy 4 days a month. Have you ever
thought about what it would be like to be the
opposite sex? This book raises many issues of what
it would be like to not only go through the physical
transformations but what goes on mentally for both
Jill and Jack.
There are still copies

snippet of the review:
"McLaughlin's screenwriting
background carries through well, too: the plot is
faultless, building from the weird premise (and the
concomitant weirdness) to a series of
ever-more-desperate scenarios that have you rooting
for Jack and Jill even as you facepalm yourself and
peer between your fingers at the wreck they're
making of their lives." -

My review;
*just commenting from the book cover and the
summary but I will give it more marks when I read
it. This book really answered one of the questions that
pops into my head from once and a while "What if I
was a boy for a whole day? * but for the girl in the
story she was a boy for more than that.
About this Book
AS FAR AS anyone at her high school knows, Jill McTeague is an average smart girl trying to get her dream date to ask her to the prom. What no one knows, except for Jill’s mom and dad, is that for the four days Jill is out of school each month, she is not Jill at all. She is Jack, a genuine boy—complete with all the parts. Jack lives his four days per month in the solitude of Jill’s room. But his personality has been building since the cycling began. He is less and less content with his confinement and his cycles are becoming more frequent. Now Jill’s question about the prom isn’t who she'll go with, but who she'll be when the big night arrives.
